You're welcome Does this mean you managed to download and run my software and Python? Somewhere in this thread the DX9 is mentioned. Also a 4-op FM synth but not quite compatible with the DX100. But: you can use TXconvert to convert DX9 patches to DX100 patches. Results may vary, but it works. And if you use DXconvert to convert DX100 patches to DX7 patches, you will be able to load these '4-op DX7' patches in a DX9. Haven't tried that because I have never owned a DX9, but the DX7 and DX9 sysex specs are very similar. DXconvert can do many tricks. Derek wrote:Sounds a very very useful converter. Out of complete curiosity, why did you chose Python to program it in? I haven't used it myself (my librarians are written in Java) but it looks like a lot of people are using it to write utilities. I use Python because: - it,s easy to learn, yet powerful - It's a scripting language. You don't have to compile your code everytime before you can run it, which makes it great for quick trial-and-error program development. I tried the factory patches for the DX7 on Dexed, and gotta say, they're very close. Maybe the brass is a bit harsh, because it goes up to 127 instead of 99 velocity.
